Renew Your Testimony

Remember what God has already given you. Seek a living testimony for today.

Revisit a genuine spiritual foundation, remember the choices and fruits that followed, return to prayer and scripture study, and write what you know, believe, hope, and are still seeking.

This experience does not manufacture a testimony or tell you what the Holy Ghost is saying. It gives you a private place to remember, study, pray, and respond honestly.

Begin with prayer

Ask for remembrance, honesty, and present guidance.

Pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ to invite the help of the Holy Ghost. You do not need to demand the exact same feeling you once had. Ask to remember what was true, recognize what has grown from it, and understand how to follow Jesus Christ now.

Step 1

Remember the question and the witness.

Return to the real experience without exaggerating it or talking yourself out of it. Record what you remember as honestly as possible.

Step 2

Remember the fruit that followed.

A spiritual witness often becomes clearer when you remember what it led you to do and how that faithful action shaped your life.

Step 3

Study remembered witnesses.

Doctrine and Covenants 6:22–23: Remember the peace the Lord has already spoken to your mind.

Alma 5:26: If you have experienced a change of heart, ask whether you can feel so now.

Read these passages slowly. Then pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ to invite the help of the Holy Ghost. Ask what should be remembered, renewed, relearned, or lived more faithfully.

Step 4

Write your testimony as it honestly stands today.

You do not have to pretend certainty where you have questions. A sincere testimony can include knowledge, belief, hope, and things you are still seeking.

Step 5

Choose one faithful action.

Renewal becomes living testimony when remembrance leads to present discipleship.

Your testimony history

Preserve each renewal instead of overwriting the last one.

Each time you save a dated renewal, a new entry is created. Earlier renewals remain unchanged. You can open an earlier entry as a new working draft without modifying the saved original.
